UPDATE: Two identified in Anniston murder/suicide | News
Two victims have been identified in a house fire that killed three people. Anniston police believe it be a murder/suicide.
The home on Belmont road was gutted by the fire and police say this is now a homicide investigation. Investigators say they are treating the scene as a homicide because they have evidence of the fire being deliberately set.
Authorities now believe two of those people, 74-year-old Ruby Meads and her son, 51-year-old Richard Wilson, were stabbed to death Thursday. Their bodies were found after Monday's fire on Belmont Road.
Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown says they still have no positive ID on the third body. The coroner says the man is believed to be the one who killed the other two and set the house on fire.
Brown says he also does not yet have a cause of death for the third person, or a motive for what authorities now believe is a double murder and suicide.
Neighbors say the residents kept to themselves. They are described as an older lady who was kept by two younger relatives, though the identity of the victims has not been confirmed to have been the same people. One neighbor says she would wave at the residents and they never would wave back.
