Homeland Security's Center for Domestic Preparedness shut down in Anniston | News
ANNISTON, AL (WBRC)- One of Anniston's biggest employers closed down Tuesday because of the government shutdown.
The Department of Homeland Security's Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston closed at noon today.
A few of the 800 workers were allowed to come back to get their offices in order, then had to leave at noon. Even the media officers were not allowed to give interviews.
The training center hosts thousands of first responders from across the country each year, but has cancelled training at least through Wednesday, pending the continued shutdown.
