Police release names of people found dead after Saks standoff | News
ANNISTON, AL (WBRC)- Anniston Police have released the identities of the two people found stabbed to death in a home in Saks on Sunday.
Police identify the bodies as Darren Wilson and Doris Wilson. Officials have not released the relationship of the victims, or said whether or not it was a murder-suicide.
Sgt. Chris Sparks with Anniston PD says both bodies have been sent off for an autopsy. He says he hopes to release more information when the results come back in a day or two.
Police surrounded a home in the 400 block of Asbury Avenue around noon on Sunday, March 10 after getting a 911 call reporting a stabbing inside the residence.
"We had a witness with information that there was a possibility there was at least one deceased female inside, so we knew that early on," Anniston Police Chief Shane Denham said.
The standoff lasted for about six hours until officers deployed gas inside the home and went in. Police the windows, sent in a robot and then realized that two people inside the home were both dead. They appeared to have died from stab wounds.
