Anniston woman killed in 3-vehicle wreck near Alexandria

CALHOUN COUNTY, AL (WBRC)- One person was killed and two others injured in a three-vehicle wreck Thursday afternoon in Calhoun County.

State troopers say the wreck happened at approximately 3:50 p.m. Aug. 30 on U.S. 431 about 2.5 miles north of Alexandria.

The victim who died in the wreck has been identified as 82-year-old Edith Dawson, an Anniston woman who was a passenger in a 1992 Buick Le Sabre. The driver of the Buick was injured and taken to RMC in Anniston for treatment.

A person driving a 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck was also injured and taken to Gadsden Regional Medical Center. There is no word on the conditions of either of the injured persons.

The third vehicle involved in the wreck was a 1998 Saturn. The driver was not injured in the wreck.

State troopers say the investigation into the wreck is ongoing.
